The House of Sustainability, which was announced a year ago, will be launched in a few weeks' time, and should help navigate through the jungle of sustainability initiatives.

The House of Startups, Lhoft, House of training, and House of entrepreneurship will soon be joined by a House of sustainability, reports Delano's sister publication Paperjam.

The project for a new "House of", which was mooted a year ago, will become a reality in the next few weeks. It will see the creation of a physical reception area in the House of entrepreneurship and a web platform that is currently being finalised. It will also be placed under the supervision of the Chamber of Commerce.

“The aim is to bring together all the players in the field in one place. This should ensure effective support and awareness-raising, but also contribute to intelligent monitoring", explains Carlo Thelen, CEO of the Chamber of Commerce.

It will therefore be a question of offering a toolbox to businesses so that they can find their way more easily in the jungle of aid, premiums, subsidies, good practices, but also labels and other approvals.

Ideas, such as offering a voucher to companies wishing to have their carbon footprint assessed, are already beginning to take shape.

“Large companies tell us that this is the time to launch their energy transformation. Unfortunately, it is also a time when company margins are shrinking and everyone is cautious. The House of Sustainability will also have to help find ways to act according to its means,” says Thelen.

In any case, there is no question of “green washing”. “We have been interested in sustainable development for a long time. I believe that the train has left the station. We didn't do Rifkin in Luxembourg just for the sake of it, but because it's important and consistent.”
