François-Louis Thoreau will take up the position of desk head at HSBC’s Luxembourg branch effective from 1 September.

Prior to this appointment Thoreau worked at BNP Paribas Wealth Management in Luxembourg for the past 14 years. His last position there was head of development and transformation. He managed projects on the private banking side while supporting the CEO on financial, transformation and strategic matters.

At HSBC Luxembourg, Thoreau will work under head of private banking Pascal Julliard and market head Europe international François Essertel.

“François-Louis will help us pursue our ambitious growth plane and strengthen our role as an important hub within HSBC Global Private Banking franchise,” said Julliard in a press release announcing the new appointment.

In Luxembourg HSBC operates in private banking, securities services, corporate banking and asset management. The company has been active in the grand duchy for over 40 years. Its parent company HSBC Holding, is headquartered in London and has offices in 64 countries with combined assets of $2,959bn as of 31 March 2021.
