HSBC has relocated to the Spaces building in the Cloche d’Or. The inauguration of its new office space took place on Tuesday 22 November, in the presence of guests including the finance minister Yuriko Backes (DP) and the UK ambassador, Fleur Thomas. Among the guests from the financial world were Chris Davies, deputy CEO of HSBC Continental Europe, Jerry Grbic, CEO of the Luxembourg Bankers’ Association (ABBL), Claude Marx, Luxembourg Financial Sector Supervisory Commission (CSSF) and Nicolas Mackel, CEO of Luxembourg for Finance.
The choice to occupy the space, managed by International Workplace Group, was motivated “by the desire to occupy a building that is more environmentally friendly and socially sustainable”, said Emanuele Vignoli, CEO of HSBC Luxembourg. That is why HSBC has signed a “green lease” with IWG, a commitment that also offers flexibility in the amount of space occupied.
HSBC currently occupies more than 2,000m2, or 75%, of the new building, which was designed by Fabeck Architects and meets Breeam excellent certification. The workspaces are designed to encourage collaborative work. There are also relaxation areas and common areas to encourage links between employees.
