The police reported 150 people gathering at Place de la Gare in the capital on Saturday in the afternoon. At around 14:45 the protesters began their march, but police officers blocked them at Avenue de la Liberté between place de Paris and the railway station. Traffic on the Avenue de la Liberé was affected.
The protesters voiced their criticism over the government’s newly introduced covid-19 measures. CovidCheck became compulsory at the workplace on 15 January, requiring employees to be vaccinated, recovered or to preset a negative covid-19 test result.
Meanwhile a separate group of around 15 protesters gathered at the Glacis car park to also protest the government’s covid-19 measures. At around 16:30 these protesters dispersed while the ones remaining at Avenue de la Liberté remained until approximately 19:20.
