The International School of Luxembourg announced on 9 October that Iain Fish was named its new director. He will replace David J. Condon, who is retiring at the end of the academic year.

In a press release issued on 9 October, the International School of Luxembourg (ISL) announced the name of its new director. Iain Fish, currently high school principal, will take up the reins on 1 August 2025. He will succeed David J. Condon, who will retire at the end of the current academic year.

Before taking up this post, the new headmaster had 28 years' experience in the education sector, including more than 22 years in international schools and 18 years in management positions. He was head of the HCMC European International School in Vietnam, head of secondary education at the German European School in Singapore and vice principal and head of the European section at the same institution.

"I have had the privilege of working with and leading incredible schools in wonderful places, and I can say without hesitation that my time here at ISL has been the most rewarding," said the future headmaster. "This is a pivotal moment for ISL, as we are about to become a Continuum International Baccalaureate School. I am delighted that we have embarked on this journey, and I am proud to help make this academic goal a reality. As an educator, I am deeply committed to fostering trust, collaboration and inclusivity within our community. Ensuring that all students, staff and community members feel safe, valued, included and respected is at the heart of ISL's mission, and I believe this work will only grow in importance as we become an even more open, reflective and ambitious school."

"Iain's depth of experience and understanding of ISL will ensure a smooth transition while propelling the school's ongoing transformation to a Continuum International Baccalaureate School," ISL board and search committee chair Brian Blanchard stated in an announcement. "We are also deeply grateful to David J. Condon for his outstanding leadership and dedication over the past years in defining ISL's vision and its implementation plan," he concluded.
