Aditya Sharma, the outgoing president, will continue as a board member, stated the press release from the IBCL. In his farewell remarks, Sharma said, “After 15 years of active executive role, I look forward to seeing IBCL move ahead with innovative ideas to deepen Luxembourg-India relations and to prepare for the upcoming EU-India FTA.” Sharma also highlighted that this year marks the IBCL’s 15th anniversary.

Sudhir Kohli, the founder and chairperson of IBCL, expressed enthusiasm about Upadhyay’s appointment, stating, “Himanshu has been a visionary architect and a successful professional in developing and growing business throughout his career. Reflecting on his new role, Upadhyay said, “Luxembourg’s robust financial services sector, cutting-edge technology and innovation landscape, and strong expertise in logistics and supply chain management present significant opportunities for successful collaboration with India. With Luxembourg’s strategic location in Europe and India’s burgeoning market potential, we can create synergistic partnerships in fintech, ICT and sustainable development.” He committed to fostering these collaborations and enhancing economic ties between the two nations during his tenure. Upadhyay also emphasised his intention to work closely with other Indian representations in Luxembourg to ensure that the Indian community and businesses are adequately and fairly represented. Upadhyay resides in Luxembourg with his wife and two children.
