Cathy Moes: “In this busy world, we all need to reconnect with ourselves, recharge our batteries and let off steam. A wonderful way to do this is to walk into a dance studio and leave everything behind to recalibrate your mind. Whether you want to start something new or reconnect with dance, there's no better time than now.” Photo: Jaqlin Medlock

The Paperjam Club welcomes a new member: Dance School Cathy Moes by Li Marteling. Introduction in three questions.

Can you sum up your company's activities in a few words?

Cathy Moes: “ welcomes amateurs in a professional setting, offering more than 100 dance classes a week. The 2500m2 space includes four dance studios, where ten qualified dance teachers pass on their passion for dance to people of all ages. Classical, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop or body&mind classes for children, teenagers, adults and seniors - there's something for every age, level and style.”

What's the story behind your company, and how does it translate into your mission and values?

“Founded in 1978 by Li Marteling, the school was the first to offer jazz classes, bringing the New York spirit to Luxembourg. What started out as a humble but ambitious idea quickly grew into one of the largest amateur dance schools in Europe. In 2018, I became director of the school and am continuing my mother's vocation by offering not only dance classes, but also a 'home', a second family, and by filling the dance studio with empathy, kindness and love.”

What opportunities are you looking for within the Club, and how do you plan to contribute to its development?

“In this busy world, we all need to reconnect with ourselves, recharge our batteries and let off steam. A wonderful way to do this is to walk into a dance studio and leave everything behind to recalibrate your mind. That's why we offer classes exclusively for adults, from beginners to advanced, in addition to 75 classes for children and teenagers. Whether you want to start something new or reconnect with dance, there's no better time than now.”
