The decision to cancel this year’s ING Route du Vin half marathon was taken with a heavy heart by organisers.

The health crisis continues to have an impact on major popular sporting events. Following the cancellation of the ING Night Marathon, the organisers of the ING Route du Vin, which was to take start in Remich on 26 September, have also now thrown in the towel.

This is the second year that the highly popular half-marathon along the banks of the Moselle has had to be cancelled for health safety reasons.

“The current situation unfortunately does not allow us to plan and implement an event on the scale of the ING Route du Vin with peace of mind, so we have no choice but to cancel this year's edition,” the organisers confirmed on Monday evening.

But they are not giving up. They are already planning next year’s edition for Sunday 25 September 2022. They have also announced that they are preparing a completely new course and will add two new approved distances of 5 km and 10 km to the successful half-marathon (21.1 km) route.
