In the heart of Luxembourg, Anna and Olivier live in this house full of colour and happiness.

Just under 10 years ago, the couple had the opportunity to buy this old town house. After a thorough renovation, a few broken walls and ceilings, a raised roof and the construction of a conservatory at the back, they were able to add their personal touch by decorating it in their own image. “We knew very quickly that we didn’t want white walls,” explains Anna. She and Olivier opted for a house full of colour. “We took some inspiration from interiors seen on Pinterest, but above all we followed our instincts and spontaneous desires.”

Colour is everywhere: not just on the walls, but also on the ceilings and even on the street-facing façade. “Initially, we’d planned an orange façade with a sponged effect, but when the company started work, it didn’t look at all like we’d expected,” explains Olivier. “We then talked to the neighbours and chose a colour that also matched the colour of their facade, a blue but with a deeper tone.”

In the interior, each room has its own colour scheme and character. “For the dressing room, for example, I absolutely wanted to have a circus atmosphere,” says Anna. This is evident in the paint for the ceiling, which features the stripes of a circus tent. “As for the furniture, it’s a lot of things that we used to have or that we got back from our family,” confides Olivier. He adds: “With the renovation, we didn’t have much money left over for furnishings, so we played around with paint, some wallpaper and other elements like decorative strips.” Today, the couple really enjoy their home and are delighted with their choices.
