It’s nothing like you’ve ever seen before… in Luxembourg! The exceptional transformation of the banking space formerly occupied by Spuerkeess into a unique hybrid concept store, café, chocolate shop and relaxation space owned by ByJérémy, the name behind the hair-spa and beauty house located on Avenue de la Liberté.

Market ByJérémy is divided in three main sections, the hybrid concept store, the coffee and chocolate shop corner, and behind both sections is a calm relaxation space for visitors.  Many people are already familiar with the HairSpa salon, but the Market ByJérémy store proposes unique items that you won’t find anywhere else in the grand duchy.

However, that’s not all, plans are underway to merge both the HairSpa and Market ByJérémy as the owners intend to create synergies between both spaces “as soon we receive a pending authorisation in the coming weeks, we will break down the walls dividing both sections giving visitors easy access to both spaces and a flawless and more sophisticated experience,” says the founder of the brand, Jérémy Buchet.

“About five years ago, we thought of creating a space close-by where people could spend time and just relax,” he added, and that vision is now a reality that is visible for all to see and visit just opposite the tram stop at Place de Metz.

On your way in or out of the store, don’t forget to check out the dynamic terrace made from a stack of hay before it is replaced, or the unique writing on the glass doors designed and made by an art professor.

Now, let’s look at what the Market ByJérémy store offers asides its relaxation space.

Hybrid concept store

In this section, you will find a variety of products from top brands across various parts of the world.

Interior design and tableware products are made by lifestyle and home decor brands such as Kinto, the Belgian brand Serax, and the Dutch brand Bloomingville. The store’s book collection counts English and French titles from international publishers including Gestalten and Teneues, while yoga mats and accessories come from Manduka, thanks to a partnership developed with Market ByJérémy.

Aveda body and hair products, and organic coconut-based products from Biobay, an up-and-coming brand, can also be seen displayed on the stands.

Clients looking to pamper their nails can also find nail polish by Manucurist, an many other products to discover.

“We have specific values that we promote in the market by making sure our products are cruelty-free, vegan and hand crafted. We would like to avoid mass productions from industries and work with brands that produce in smaller quantities or with unique designer brands. We do not want to offer the same things but a truly diverse mix and that is why we are always looking for unique items to include to our collection... where these values are respected, business becomes secondary for us,” says Buchet.

In terms of affordability “we want to create a balance between the very stylish and affordable divide in the grand duchy…I think until now this was missing in the Luxembourg market.”

The space is also beautified by seedlings and some plants, which were formerly in the HairSpa section. The plants, which are grown and sold by the store, only come in ceramic pots to discourage the use of plastic. The seedlings are displayed in glass containers and also stem from older plants. Combined, their addition gives the market a truly distinctive and relaxing feeling in a well-lit ambiance.

Café and chocolate shop

Two distinctive sections are dedicated to edibles and drinks. Vegan and gluten free food made by Glow restaurant can be seen in the display, thanks to a partnership with the restaurant located in Bonnevoie.

“We wanted to work with a brand that makes homemade and fresh healthy meals,” highlights Buchet.

The café store, managed by the Italian barista Salvatore, selects and procures its coffee beans from Mondo del Caffè in Echternach, which imports the beans and roast them locally.

Among the tea samples is the Luxembourgish brand Léoné containing a super mix of ingredients such as the Japanese sencha, apples, coconut and others.

“We represent travel, lifestyle, kitchen, vegetarian, vegan, well-being, green standards, respect for the planet… let’s just say we represent all-things natural,” says Buchet.

The chocolate shop is run by Isabelle, also known as Madame Chocolat, a Belgian chocolate expert, having undergone several trainings and formerly a senior staff in the banking sector where she worked for over 20 years.

Madame Chocolat explains that she works with artisanal chocolate brands that have been in existence for many generations and that all the chocolates are changed after a few weeks to make sure that only fresh chocolates are sold. The home-made Belgian chocolates come in diverse irresistible flavours including apricot, ice cream, black pepper, ruby coconut, avocado, caramel, orange, raspberry, and even a special Madame Chocolat flavour.

“Chocolate and cakes have always been a passion of mine and maintaining daily contact with clients has always brought me a lot of joy,” she says.

Market ByJérémy is located just beside the HairSpa at 4 Avenue de la Liberté, 1930 Luxembourg.
