The collective labour agreement for staff at the International School of Luxembourg (ISL) was renewed on 18 June. It will come into force on 1 September for a period of two years.

Social dialogue has not always been easy at the International School of Luxembourg (ISL). We remember the protests in January 2020, which eventually led the social partners to the National Conciliation Office (NCB). This was followed by an extension which is due to end in a few weeks' time, in August.

The 277 employees of the ISL can breathe a sigh of relief, as an agreement was reached on Friday 18 June between the OGBL, the spokesperson for the negotiations, the LCGB and their employer concerning the collective labour agreement. The agreement will come into force on 1 September. It will last for two years. It includes a one-off bonus of €480 in recognition of the commitment made during the pandemic.

In addition, the joint statement from the OGBL and the LCGB explains that "health care staff will have their salaries integrated into the salary scale of the teaching staff, and their children will be able to benefit from the reduction in ISL school fees".
