The US government in June this year released a long-awaited UFO report on what it knows about mysterious flying objects seen moving through military airspace between 2004 and 2021.
Investigators examined 144 unidentified aerial phenomena but could explain only one of them. It found no evidence of alien technology in the flying objects but also could not definitely rule out that the phenomena observed might be alien spacecraft.
“Aviation authorities until now had no knowledge of the American report on unidentified aerial phenomena,” transport minister François Bausch (Déi Gréng) and minister of the economy Franz Fayot (LSAP) said in answer to a parliamentary question.
“They are also not aware of any such phenomena being observed or registered here in Luxembourg,” they said.
Pirate Party MP Sven Clement had enquired into the risk of potential collisions, but Bausch and Fayot said “a potential risk of collision in flight traffic because of unidentified aerial phenomena has not had an influence on the regulation of Luxembourg air traffic.”
They also clarified that observing UFOs is not a task of the Luxembourg Space Agency, which they said focuses on developing the new space sector of the economy.
