One of the grand duchy’s oldest social and networking clubs has a new head.

The British Ladies Club of Luxembourg (BLC) has appointed Jade Marie Bajai as its new chair.

“Jade is an investment communication manager and macro strategist with Banque Internationale à Luxembourg,” the BLC said in a press release on Sunday. “Prior to this she worked with JP Morgan Bank and boasts excellent communication and networking skills--all of which will prove invaluable in leading the BLC into the future.”

She grew up in Scotland and has lived in the grand duchy for 10 years, after a stint in the US.

Bajai stated in the BLC announcement: “I believe I can grow membership, extend the BLC’s outreach and modernise its digital presence, all while respecting the traditions and essence of the club.” Bajai said she was eager to “infuse the club with fresh energy and help it to achieve its objectives.”

Bajai took over from acting chair Dawn Butler, who had temporarily taken the reigns from Victoria Hodgson, who stepped down last year after serving a maximum term on the BLC committee.

The group was founded in 1969. Despite its name, the club is not limited to British nationals; it just operates as an English-speaking organisation.
