And the winner is… Julie Becker. CEO of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange since 21 April 2021, Becker was honoured on Tuesday evening at the Rockhal as “Luxembourg’s most influential economic decision-maker” during the gala. She joins , , Ernst Wilhelm Contzen, , , and on the prestigious list of winners of this prize, organised by Paperjam’s and Delano’s publisher Maison Moderne (and based on the original idea of consultant Carlo Schneider).
This decision was made by the Paperjam Top 100’s independent jury in a confidential manner. Chaired by Michèle Detaille, the jury wished to recognise the merits and qualities of Julie Becker, who, together with her teams, has contributed to giving the Luxembourg Stock Exchange a worldwide reputation. She was one of the first to realise that sustainable finance would very quickly become both a key issue and a vector for growth. In 2016, she was behind the creation of the Luxembourg Green Exchange (LGX), a platform dedicated to sustainable securities and issuers contributing to the financing of a low-carbon and more inclusive economy.
But it was also her leadership and vision that the jury praised.
“I don’t know of anyone who wouldn’t be happy that she is number one in the Paperjam Top 100--or who would argue with that,” said one jury member before the ceremony. This was confirmed throughout the evening on Tuesday.
