KFC is just one (chicken) wingbeat away from opening its first store in Luxembourg. The franchise, which will be managed in Luxembourg by Jessy Audinet, has announced that it will be opening in Belval at the beginning of October, two years after the first rumours.
For its first establishment, KFC is still looking for some of its first 70 employees, despite three recruitment days and open positions at Adem and an agreement with the University of Luxembourg for positions reserved for students.
“Nearly half of our management positions are filled through internal promotion. Not everyone likes the fast food business,” admits Audinet, who has worked for Quick and Vapiano over the past ten years. “So when we have employees in our teams who are committed to the concept, we do everything we can to keep them. We have therefore put in place a genuine policy of identifying potential through our restaurant managers, who are trained to do this, and we anticipate our needs so that we have time to develop our staff. Employees who are likely to become service managers, for example, follow a seven-week course that alternates training in the restaurant, with a service manager or assistant manager who will teach them the job, and sessions in the dining room on management.”
“We are offering 70 jobs at the first KFC in Belval and from the first quarter of next year, we will be opening other restaurants with an average of 60 jobs per address, so all applications are welcome, from team member to restaurant manager,” explains recruitment manager Caroline Berthelot.
With the franchise promising nine more shops between 2025 and 2028--and almost as many new jobs each time--that brings the total number of new positions to roughly 600 over the next few years.
