Belgian-Irish chef Killian Crowley began his career in Luxembourg and has a wealth of international experience.

Eurest Luxembourg has called the appointment of Killian Crowley as its executive head chef a “bold appointment” that fits in with the company’s commitment to “sustainable catering”. The catering company says it wants to adapt to the new challenges of the sector while standing out by offering "healthy and balanced food, inseparable from responsible sourcing, respectful of people, nature and animals."

Crowley, a Belgian-Irish chef, is a graduate of the Libramont hotel school. He began his career in Luxembourg in Michelin-starred kitchens, notably as an intern at Clairefontaine before landing his first proper job at La Distillerie in Bourlinster from where he moved to La Cristallerie in the hotel Place d’Armed.

He then went on to work for Ducasse in Monaco, before joining the team at Le Bon Bon in Brussels. That was followed by a stint in Ireland alongside chef JP McMahon at L'Aniar. In 2018 he won the San Pellegrino Young Chef UK & Ireland competition and in 2021 he published P'tit Chef, an illustrated children’s book that guides youngsters through step-by-step recipes.

"I like the idea of passing on my knowledge, the flexibility that this project provides, but also the possibility of growing teams in a virtuous way. We can reach diners at school through the school and nursery segment, at the office through the corporate restaurant segment, in convalescence with the healthcare facilities arm, and at times when they are more receptive, with MyLunch the app that whets their appetite," said Crowley.

Carine Demangeon, managing director, Compass Group Luxembourg, explained that the company was looking for a young chef from the region with a modern and current vision of cooking to head up the Eurest kitchens. “It was important to meet our sustainable and environmental commitments. And it is quite natural that Killian joined us. We share common values", Demangeon said,
