In Luxembourg, an event was held to celebrate the coronation service of King Charles III, with several hundred people in attendance. The service was shown on big screens at St George’s International School on Saturday 6 May 2023.
Fleur Thomas, British ambassador to Luxembourg, stated: “This coronation ceremony is a celebration of the unity and strength of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth; and I am proud to celebrate this historic event with the communities of Luxembourg today.”
The British Chamber of Commerce, the British-Luxembourg Society, the British Ladies Club, the Anglican Church of Luxembourg, Telstar Scouts and British Girlguiding Overseas Luxembourg organised stands and activities with a distinctly British flair. The event was also joined by the embassies of Ghana and Pakistan, both members of the Commonwealth. Luxembourg’s minister for family affairs and integration, Corinne Cahen (DP), was also in attendance.
