Luxembourg’s largest microbrewery has teamed up with the Kulturfabrik in Esch-sur-Alzette to create Kufa Béier, which is set to be the star of the Kufa Summer Bar all season.

The Kufa Summer Bar, the Kulturfabrik’s summer bar in Esch, will be the place to be during the summer season. Opening on Friday 20 May, the cultural centre will take the opportunity to unveil its hop collaboration with Brasserie Simon: Kufa Béier, a “red ale” in the colours of the region, “with a fresh and light taste, just like its alcohol content, i.e. less than 4.5%,” says Betty Fontaine, owner and manager of Brasserie Simon.

As for the label, also created ad hoc, Fatima Rougi, in charge of communication at Kufa, says: “The artist’s name is Pasko and he is from Esch. For us it was important to work with an Esch artist because this is an Esch beer in homage to the ‘terres rouges’. Pasko was inspired by the colour of the beer, which is reminiscent of Kufa. So the starting point was this atypical coral-red colour. Moreover, Pasko is a regular at Kufa and a regular customer at Ratelach, so his choice was obvious to me. In fact, we are taking advantage of the launch of his label to exhibit his work at the Ratelach during an exhibition that starts this Thursday 19 May and ends in July.”

Another opportunity to taste this new, fresh beer is the "ARTraverse-FLAMENCOtre" flamenco festival, which is still taking place on site until 28 May.
