Every Friday, Delano’s sister publication Paperjam presents an address where you can enjoy the summer with a drink or a meal. The Kufa Summer Bar will be taking over the Kulturfabrik bistro on the terrace of the Esch-sur-Alzette cultural centre. From DJ sets and foodtrucks, there’s plenty to feast on.

A key venue in Luxembourg’s cultural life, the Kulturfabrik is used to entertaining and educating its visitors, as well as quenching their thirst. For the summer season, it’s pulling out all the stops in terms of food and drink with the Kufa Summer Bar, which is installing recycled furniture, lanterns and customised tables on the forecourt of the cultural centre. The result is a “guinguette pop” (open-air dance hall) atmosphere that will welcome visitors from Tuesday to Saturday, 5pm to 1am.

When it comes to drinks, there’s something for everyone. The Kufa Summer Bar menu offers aperitifs, draught and bottled beers--including , whose label this year was designed by the young Luxembourg illustrator Jessica Frascht--digestifs and other strong spirits, cider, wine and a wide range of cocktails. Oh yes, soft drinks too! And during happy hour from 5pm to 7pm, draught beers are half price.

On the food front, we recommend a visit to VendreDing-Dong, a new weekly event combining good food and wild DJ sets. Every Friday until 15 September, a DJ and a foodtruck will be taking over the Kufa Summer Bar. On 25 August, DJ Jean-Cornichon will be on the decks and hot dog specialist Planet Dog will be in the kitchen.

September 1 will be a “Beet2Barbecue” evening, hosted by the groups who usually rehearse at the Kulturfabrik, while the staff prepare a big barbecue. To round things off on 15 September, DJ Ptrck Prrn will be setting the mood, and foodtruck pizzeria Verace will be on hand for the last VendreDing-Dong of the season.
