In the space of 35 years, the Steffen name has become a household name in the butchery and gastronomy sectors. Founded by father Frank, the company, which has now become a group, has been taken over by , 38, and Lisa Steffen, 28. “When there are waves, you have to get out your surfboard!”
That's the motto of the family, which has weathered several crises, including the covid-19 crisis, by diversifying. Today, the Steffen Group has six butcher shops, three restaurants, two takeaways and a catering service, with a total of 270 employees.
Although Tom, CEO, and Lisa, COO, are now at the head of the family group, "our dad is still partly involved in the business, which is understandable after having built it up from scratch, but he trusts us with the day-to-day management", says Lisa. Taking over a family business "is an opportunity, I'm not going to hide from it. It's an opportunity that I may or may not honour through my behaviour", says Tom.
