Tom Baumert will replace outgoing director Nicolas Henckes at the beginning of December.

Currently the CEO of the Chamber of Commerce’s House of Entrepreneurship, Tom Baumert will take on his new position on 1 December. In a statement, the CLC says that outgoing director Nicolas Henckes will ensure that the transition phase goes smoothly over the next three months. Henckes is leaving the CLC to take charge of Hospilux, a company specialised in the sale of medical equipment in Luxembourg.

“I am very happy to take the reins of the CLC and to be able to support its 1,700 member companies. The challenges of the sector are varied and multiple and the CLC plays an essential role in supporting [companies] on a daily basis. I am sure that we will collectively continue to support and develop the trade, transport and services sectors. I would particularly like to thank Carlo Thelen, director general of the Chamber of Commerce, for the support and trust he has placed in me over the last few years. I look forward to continuing this collaboration within the CLC and the UEL,” said Bamert..

“Tom is the first choice for the director position at the CLC and I am very proud that he wanted to apply for this position. It was really a great surprise and proves that we have done a great job over the last few years at the CLC. I have of course worked with him in my role at the Chamber of Commerce and we already have a well-established relationship of trust. Tom is a fine connoisseur of Luxembourg's entrepreneurial fabric and has the necessary political experience to take over the leadership of the CLC successfully,” said Fernand Ernster, president of the CLC in the same press release.

Tom Baumert graduated from the Solvay Business School and is well known in the Luxembourg business world. He joined the Chamber of Commerce in 2013 as a business advisor and three years later became the CEO of the House of Entrepreneurship.
