Three Luxembourgish wine producers won medals at an international (France and Luxembourg) crémant competition.

The 33rd national crémant competition (Concours national des crémants) for France and Luxembourg was held in Limoux, France, on 19 April. Winegrowers gathered for the event, with the contingent from the Moselle being the only non-French representatives taking part.

At the competition, the crémants were assessed blind in various sub-categories: blanc brut, blanc brut millésimé, rosé brut, blanc de noirs brut and cuvée spéciale. The results of the competition were particularly favourable for Luxembourg, which took seven gold and four silver medals.

More specifically, Domaines Vinsmoselle won five gold medals and three silver. Their gold wins were for the Poll Fabaire cuvée pinot blanc; Poll Fabaire cuvée brut cave de Wellenstein; Poll Fabaire cuvée brut cave de Stadtbredimus; Poll Fabaire extra-brut cave de Wellenstein; and Poll Fabaire extra-brut cave de Wormeldange. Their silvers were for the cuvée Jongwënzer; cuvée brut cave de Wellenstein; and cuvée chardonnay cave de Grevenmacher.

Domaine Cep d’Or won two gold medals in the blanc brut and blanc brut millésimé categories with its brut and “36” brut cuvées, respectively. Caves Mathes won a silver medal in the blanc brut category with their “Summun.”
