The healthcare sector is not immune to the wave of digitisation that is increasingly driving our economies. Digital medical devices have become a cornerstone of the healthcare sector in just a few years, presenting significant potential for both patients and providers … provided that their introduction to various European markets can be facilitated, ensuring access to the latest technologies for everyone.
This European conference will provide an overview of best practice in accessing various European markets for digital medical technologies.
This is the main focus of the second edition of the , which will take place on 14 and 15 May in Luxembourg. This international event is organised jointly by the , the in Germany, and the in Germany, as well as , knowledge and innovation communities of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology.
“This European conference will provide an overview of best practice in accessing various European markets for digital medical technologies,” explains Jean-Philippe Arié, Luxembourg HealthTech Cluster Manager at by Luxinnovation. “We will provide a broad overview of regional, national and European initiatives aimed not only at supporting, but also at understanding digital health companies and helping them make the right strategic choices.”
Thus, themes such as the challenges of collecting and accessing patient data, as well as the importance of data governance and the technical infrastructure needed to use and share this data, will be reviewed.
There will also be discussions on the development of robust business models in digital health, funding pathways from research to commercialisation, and the journey towards certification and social security reimbursement.
For over 15 years, Luxembourg has been building a comprehensive ecosystem in the field of digital health.
In addition to Lex Delles (Minister of the Economy, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Energy, and Tourism) and Martine Deprez (Minister of Health and Social Security), this conference will also welcome, among many other high-level European speakers, Marco Marsella, Director of Digital, EU4Health, and Modernisation of Health Systems within the DG Health of the European Commission.
