This weekend, Luxembourg Open Air makes its grand return with its legendary end-of-season party--the last chance to enjoy this not-to-be-missed festival before it returns next May. But that’s not all! As well as LOA, there are street festivals, art exhibitions, medieval feasts and outdoor cultural events. Get ready for a weekend full of entertainment and discovery in and around Luxembourg.

In Luxembourg

Thursday 12 September

Aperinetwork at the Ceruzzi. This convivial afterwork event will be held in the Ceruzzi restaurant, located in the Cloche d’Or. It’s the perfect opportunity to get together after the summer break and enjoy delicious cocktails, good music and the restaurant’s fine cuisine. An evening of relaxation and good vibes.

Opening of the exhibition “Bluemetrie--traces and whispers.” The Schlassgoart gallery in Esch-sur-Alzette is presenting works by contemporary Polish artist Urszula Wilk. Her paintings, centred around the colour blue, invite us to reflect deeply on this symbolic colour and its multiple cultural meanings. The exhibition offers a truly sensory and philosophical journey.

Friday 13 September

Luxembourg Open Air (LOA) opening night. The Luxembourg Open Air electronic music festival kicks off in style with international artists such as Joel Corry, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, and others. An open-air sound experience in one of Luxembourg’s most emblematic venues. If you’re coming from Trier, Arlon or Thionville, the shuttle bus will cost you €15.

Opening of the exhibition “She Awakened to Her Truth.” Muka Collective gallery is inaugurating an art show dedicated to exploring identity and transformation. The exhibition highlights female artists, offering a reflection on self-realisation through art. The vernissage also features a tasting of local wines produced by women winemakers.

Leidelenger Kiermes. The traditional Leudelange fair opens its doors for a weekend of festivities, with rides, food stalls and entertainment for all the family. A not-to-be-missed event in the autumn.

Open Air Cinema, “Ich unverbesserlich 4.” Come and enjoy an open-air cinema screening of the film “Despicable Me 4” in German. A great time for all the family under the stars.

Saturday 14 September

Luxembourg Open Air. The second day of the LOA festival features performances by Da Tweekaz, Dubvision and Vini Vici. An electrifying evening not to be missed. If you’re coming from Trier, Arlon or Thionville, shuttle buses will cost you €15. .

Ettelbrooklyn Street Fest. This emblematic urban festival returns to Ettelbruck for another high-energy edition. On 14 September, enjoy a day punctuated by musical performances, artistic entertainment and food and drink stalls. A not-to-be-missed street party to celebrate local culture in a relaxed atmosphere.

Leidelenger Kiermes. The traditional Leudelange fair offers four days of fun with rides, food stalls and entertainment for all the family. A friendly, festive atmosphere not to be missed.

Riesling Open, opening ceremony. This ceremony marks the start of the Riesling festivities with the crowning of the Riesling Queen and a public tasting. Live music will provide a festive atmosphere throughout the evening.

Butschebuerger Buerfest. Dudelange’s medieval festival offers knights’ shows, period craftsmen and numerous merchants. A journey back in time for all the family.

Open air cinema, Wonka. The Sunset Cinema invites young and old to an open-air screening of the film Wonka, with French subtitles. An exceptional setting for enjoying cinema under the stars.

Collective exhibition of photographers, “125e de Seconde.” The Schëfflenger Konschthaus gallery invites you to its vernissage to discover photographic works highlighting the intimate relationship between time and image.

India Day. Place Guillaume II in Luxembourg City will be transformed into a living showcase of Indian culture. Xanti Schawinsky: Play, Life, Illusion--a Retrospective + Schawinsky Reloaded by Monster Chetwynd. This  outside Switzerland. Inspired by the spirit of the Bauhaus and Black Mountain College, Schawinsky explored a variety of artistic fields, including stage direction, set design, photography and painting. The exhibition also includes a large-scale installation by Monster Chetwynd, created in response to Schawinsky’s work.

In Namur

Fêtes de Wallonie. The 101st edition of the Fêtes de Wallonie takes Namur by storm from 12 September with a programme packed with music, folklore and popular celebrations. From Thursday evening, artists such as Caballero&JeanJass, Vladimir Cauchemar and Assia MK will be setting the stage alight at Place Saint-Aubain. The concerts continue on Friday with Doria D, Suarez and Daddy K, while on Saturday, Loïc Nottet and Kid Noize will be on the bill. The weekend will also be punctuated by a host of folklore events, including the famous Échasse d’Or joust and the Route du Peket. Don’t miss the fireworks display on Saturday evening at 10pm!

In Arlon

Qbuild Arlon Marathon. This Sunday, the town of Arlon will be hosting the third edition of the Qbuild Arlon Marathon, a not-to-be-missed race for sports enthusiasts. There are several formats on offer: the classic 42km marathon, a 21.1km half-marathon, a 10km course for amateurs, and a children’s race of around 1.5km. It’s a great day out for all the family, with entertainment for young and old in the Arlon entertainment village.
