The grand opening of the new jewellery store Luxor took place on 25 and 26 June at its premises located in the city center. An exquisite event showcasing some of the finest jewellery made by  designers across Europe with an emphasis on female creators.

Starting 25 June, Luxor was inaugurated right in the heart of Luxembourg, next to place d’Armes.  Guests at the event were treated to tasty macarons, sparkling wine and finger foods, but of course, also beautiful flashes of colours radiating from scintillating diamond studded and gold plated jewellery of the finest quality, gemstones, pearls, among others.

The brand, which serves as an intermediary for European designers, promoteand showcased independent creations and designs from  craftsmen and women across Europe and emphasises the use of sustainable materials, and also creations by female jewellery makers. 

In addition, the brand also offers customers  an opportunity to exchange old pieces of jewellery.

Gold bars and coins within a range of affordable prices were also on display with a piece from the Central Bank of Luxembourg catching the sight of onlookers.

Cyprus based Penelope Marathovounioti, the creative Director at was at the event to showcase some of her products. She explains the inspiration for her pieces come from a mix of cultures with each one having a symbolic meaning and using several materials including hematite stones, gold, pearls, enamel and many others. The items are sourced from Athens and sold to clients from around Europe and elsewhere.

Some of the other brands Luxor offers includes Ramon (Barcelona est 1888), Palmiero Jewellery Design and Zancan.  The brand manager also highlighted its desire to work with Luxembourg based artisans as it increases its collections in the future.
