Architectural firm Beiler François Fritsch (BFF) has won Luxtram's call for projects for its storage and maintenance centre at Cloche d'Or.

BFF announced in a LinkedIn post that it has been awarded the contract which will require the company to carry out a preliminary design estimation for the building and the building system. It will also need to provide an environmental impact assessment and additional architectural services.

Contacted by Delano's sister publication Paperjam, the architectural firm and Luxtram were unable to specify the project's budget or a timeframe for its implementation. “This will be the subject of a financing law," stated Luxtram.

The project should be submitted by the end of the year, which means that a vote in parliament can be expected in 2023--all The financing bill will not only be applied to the Cloche d’Or storage and maintenance centre. “All the tram (lines) have been done according to financing laws. A first one, in 2014, was voted for the Luxexpo-Gare section. A second one, in 2018, for the Gare-Cloche d'Or-Luxexpo Findel section. Now, the same thing is needed for the rest of the extensions.”

Information received by Paperjam indicates that the project cost is estimated between €90m and €100m.
