The EY Entrepreneur of the Year awards ceremony took place on Thursday evening. The overall theme of this year’s competition was celebrating the art of entrepreneurship and the strong entrepreneurial drive in local businesses. There were 14 candidates in the running, all of whom met the pre-selection criteria. After in-depth interviews with EY professionals and submission of a dossier to a panel of judges made up of representatives from the business world and chaired by the Fedil business federation chair , seven finalists were selected.

, CEO of Félix Giorgetti, one of Luxembourg’s leading construction companies, was crowned 2023 winner by , partner and competition leader at EY. “Marc Giorgetti was active in the family business from an early age, working on building sites and acquiring expertise in operating construction machinery. After completing his studies, he returned to Luxembourg to take charge of the company, which was in difficulty at the time, with a debt of €20m and a cash position at its lowest ebb. 37 years later, the Félix Giorgetti group is one of Luxembourg’s leading construction and property developers, with a presence in the hotel and catering sector and a workforce of more than 1,300,” explained EY in its presentation of the candidates.

Giorgetti graduated from the École de Commerce in Paris in 1986 with a degree in business management, and took over the reins of the family business with his brother Paul. Together, they developed and expanded the company's activities. Marc Giorgetti is also chairman of the Groupement des entrepreneurs du bâtiment et des travaux publics, a construction sector trade association.

The construction company’s CEO is also in the running to take part in EY’s World Entrepreneur of the Year competition, the final of which will be held in Monaco in June 2024.

A special “lifetime achievement” award was presented to Foyer Group CEO , who was one of seven finalists for 2023.
