The former director of Mudam from 2000 to 2008, Marie-Claude Beaud, died on Sunday.

In 2000, after serving as deputy curator and then director of the Museum of Grenoble between 1969 and 1978, curator of Museums of the City of Toulon until 1984, director of the Foundation Cartier for contemporary arts and then general curator of the Union centrale des arts décoratifs in Paris, Marie-Claude Beaud took over as director of Mudam.

Originally from Franche-Comté in France, she remained director until 2008, before taking over as director of the New National Museum of Monaco until 2021.

She died this Sunday in Toulon at the age of 78. Our condolences to her family.
