Less than two years after her arrival at Luxembourg Art Week, Mélanie de Jamblinne has officially taken the reins. The contemporary art fair’s team announced her appointment as director in a press release, just months after . “This appointment follows her close collaboration with the fair’s founder, , during the anniversary edition in 2024,” the organisation said.
Before joining Luxembourg Art Week, Jamblinne worked for four years as part of the programming team for Esch2022, European Capital of Culture, collaborating with Lët’z Arles to coordinate exhibitions. Her career also took her to Smets, where she was in charge of communications, marketing and events. Committed to the art world, since 2018 she has sat on the board of Lët’z Arles and Friends of Museums Luxembourg, where she cofounded the Young Friends of Museums programme.
“I am very pleased to continue the work accomplished over the past ten years and to build on a solid foundation,” said the new director. “Luxembourg Art Week is first and foremost an international crossroads for galleries, artists, collectors and institutions, but it is also an essential platform for the Luxembourg and regional art scene. Together with the team, we are working to strengthen these two axes for the 2025 edition and the years to come.”
With this appointment, Reding is taking a step aside to focus on developing his galleries in Luxembourg and Brussels. However, he remains involved on the boards of the company and the Artcontemporain.lu asbl, which supports the event’s cultural programme.
“Faced with the many challenges linked to financial requirements, artistic freedoms, international dynamics as well as the challenges of the local scene, Mélanie de Jamblinne will be able to assume the management with a serenity conducive to satisfying the many expectations,” he said.
