Customers buying electric Mercedes-Benz models in Luxembourg through the Merbag dealership can now arrange the installation of the charging infrastructure as part of the purchasing process.

Mercedes-Benz has partnered with Eneco, a major Dutch energy supplier with Luxembourg operations based out of Contern, saying it wants to facilitate the transition to electric driving.

The agreement, in October, covers the Benelux region and aims to ensure that customers purchasing an electric or hybrid Mercedes-Benz can easily opt for an Eneco wallbox installation. This initiative covers both business and private customers.

The alliance means that the installation services will be available to customers of Merbag, a Mercedes dealership with 6 locations across the grand duchy. A representative from Eneco confirmed to Delano this week that the partnership was active in Luxembourg. The spokesperson emphasised the readiness of Merbag to facilitate the offer and oversee the installation process for the necessary charging infrastructure.

Eneco’s wallbox installation encompasses a comprehensive service, it said, from initial advice on the most suitable charging solution to the physical installation and support of the charging point. With future-proofing as a key consideration, the system is designed to accommodate potential changes in a customer’s charging needs without necessitating significant alterations, Eneco has stated.
