Luxair will offer flights to Milan-Linate from 29 October. This will be followed by flights to the Canary Islands and La Palma in November, and to Cape Verde and its capital, Praia, in December. Ljubljana is coming too.

Four new destinations will round out Luxair’s offer later this year. In June the the opening of flights to Ljubljana. Although tickets are already on sale, the Slovenian capital will not be served until 14 September.

More recently--on Tuesday 25 July--Luxair announced that it would also be resuming flights to Milan-Linate from 29 October. The airport, located about half an hour by public transport from the city centre according to Google Maps, will complement the existing service to Milan-Malpensa airport (14 connections per week), which is much further away from the city centre (about an hour’s journey).

The airline will operate two flights a week to Milan-Linate, every Saturday and Sunday (outbound on Saturday at 7:45am and on Sunday at 6:45pm, return on Saturday at 10am and on Sunday at 8.55pm). The flight takes just over an hour and sales have been open since Tuesday.

The first economy ticket available, on Sunday 29 October at 6:45pm, cost €142.50 in a search carried out at midday today. Other tickets were available, starting from €67.50 at the beginning of November. Luxair points out that flights to Malpensa and Linate can be combined with the “multi-city” option, allowing travellers to use either of the two airports during their journey.

At the end of 2017, Luxair announced it was opening a route to Milan-Linate, but it was stopped a few months later.

More service to the Canary Islands, Cape Verde

After Italy, the Luxembourg airline plans to take its passengers to the Spanish Canary Islands--La Palma, also known as Isla Bonita. Luxair will be making one round trip a week (outbound on Thursday at 11:10am, returning the same day at 4pm, with a flight time of over five hours) from 9 November. The first tickets, already on sale, start at €262.5 (search carried out on Tuesday at midday). “These new flights will complement the ten weekly connections already in place to the neighbouring islands of Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote.”

Finally, Luxair will be expanding its services by offering flights to Praia, the capital of Cape Verde, starting from 18 December. Sales are due to open on 27 July for one round trip per week (departure on Monday at 8am, return on Tuesday at 12pm). Flying time is approximately eight hours.
