On the evening 22 June, celebrations for National Day began, attracting many to Luxembourg City.

For the first time since the start of the covid-19 pandemic, there were no sanitary restrictions in place for the national holiday.

As is customary in the grand duchy, the celebrations took place on the evening before the National Day--the grand duke’s official birthday is on 23 June. The traditional torchlit parade through the city as well as the firework display attracted the attention of many, as did the parties and concerts that followed.
