After the Easter weekend, Belgian railway workers will be on strike again for 24 hours, starting from 10pm on Monday. Photo: Shutterstock

A new 24-hour strike will start at 10pm on Monday on the Belgian railways. Three out of five IC trains will run. As for local trains, three L and S trains out of five will also be running. However, few P trains will be running during rush hour.

The alternative service has been drawn up on the basis of staff members who have indicated their intention to work. It will be available from Monday via the SNCB’s online travel planner. The CFL is also calling on passengers to check on their application for trains departing from or arriving in Luxembourg.

The railway company will also continue to provide an assistance service for people with reduced mobility for the duration of the strike, based on the alternative train service.

This strike action emanates from five trade union organisations, CGSP Cheminots, CSC-Transcom, SLFP, Sic and Sact, which are denouncing certain measures in the federal government agreement.

Another strike is planned for Tuesday 29 April.
