The new centre in Senningen allows crisis management staff to work in a secure environment.

Prime minister Xavier Bettel and deputy prime minister François Bausch, whose portfolios also include public works and transport, were on hand on Friday to inaugurate the new National Crisis Center in Senningen.

The centre, which can accommodate 105 staff, recently became operational and cost €20.5 million. It is run by the High Commission for National Protection (HCPN) and allows crisis management teams to work in a secure environment 24/7 during a national emergency. It has been equipped with state-of-the-art communications infrastructure--the HCPN worked closely with the state information and technology centre.
