As part of the Médiathèque numérique du Luxembourg project, three Luxembourg institutions have launched a common video-on-demand platform that grants users free access to three audiovisual libraries.
The CNA’s médiathèque, the national library in Kirchberg and the Cité Bibliothèque in the capital city are granting free access to the Kanopy, Filmfriend and Divercities VoD platforms. Each provides a rich and diverse range of audiovisual content.
The US-based Kanopy platform, for example, carries a wide range of English-language documentaries, feature films and children’s films. A quick browse brings up classics like Chinatown, recent docs such as I Am Not Your Negro and contemporary indie films like Eighth Grade. Members can view five films per month and also have unlimited access to the Kanopy Kids children’s content library and documentary series filed under The Great Courses label.
Filmfriend, based in Germany, also has a great selection of classic and more modern films available in several languages, while Divercities has documentaries and music content available in French.
Membership of the , and the is free and available in English.
