Luxembourg’s BCEE is the eighth safest bank after “an evaluation of long-term credit ratings--from Moody’s, Standard & Poor’s and Fitch--and total assets of the 500 largest banks worldwide,” the October issue of Global Finance magazine will report.

The top three spots in the publications’ rankings go to KfW of Germany, Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations of France, Bank Nederlandse Gemeenten of the Netherlands. All top ten banks will be presented an award at a ceremony to take place during the joint annual meetings of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund, which will be held September 23-25 in Washington, DC.

Global Finance has published the safe banks rankings annually for 20 years. The magazine is read by banking and financial executives in 163 countries.
