Low cost airline easyJet will begin flights between Luxembourg’s Findel and Milan’s Malpensa airports in March.

The company has not officially announced the service, but on Wednesday morning the easyJet website was accepting bookings for four flights per week starting on March 4.

Prices for the flights were advertised as “from £16.35”, or about €20, one-way starting in March on the airline’s English website, and €24.99 each way on its French and German websites. A search on Wednesday morning revealed flights available from €24.99 to €52.99 one-way in March and from €34.99 to €169.99 in April.

Luxair already flies to Milan-Malpensa from Findel Airport, having added a third weekday round-trip in September. On its website, Luxembourg’s flag carrier advertises fares starting at €159 round-trip.

Germanwings serves Milan from Cologne airport, which is about two and half hours from Luxembourg City by car.

More on flight and airport options in Luxembourg and the Greater Region can be found in the October edition of Delano.

In October easyJet became the first low cost carrier to serve Luxembourg, with flights to London-Gatwick four times a week. As of 9:20 on Wednesday morning, the airline had not yet returned Delano’s message seeking comment.
