The tragedy of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 and the loss of life of all on board will be remembered in Luxembourg on Saturday 27 September.

The timing of the event is tragically appropriate as the bodies of Andrew and Jasper Hoare, two of the deceased Luxembourg residents, was confirmed to the close family last Friday. This will be the second memorial service to be held after a similar event in the west of England last month.

Several representatives from the local community have offered their support to the remaining family members and some will speak publicly at the memorial service, which will be held on the Herchesfeld site (Roeser, Rue de Hellange) starting at 3 p.m. The family have said: "anyone who feels connected with the family Hoare-Vermeulen and their next of kin is invited to attend the service in order to commemorate them in a sober and loving manner.”

The memorial service will be possibly outdoors, so guests are recommended to dress appropriately. There will be a navette to Roeser departing from Hotel Bernini Bettembourg, Ibis Livange and Berchem railway station. The family also ask the public to refrain from taking any photographs during the memorial service.
