 European Court of Auditors

OLAF, the EU’s anti-fraud office, opened an inquiry over the awarding of the court’s security guard contract in 2010, the website of the Vienna-based daily reported Tuesday afternoon.

Only one company participated in the tender offer, “worth several hundred thousand euro,” according to papers reviewed by the paper.

A spokesman for the court confirmed it was under investigation and pledged the institution’s “full co-operation” with the anti-corruption authority, Kurier said. The European Court of Auditors is an independent body responsible for ensuring all EU funds are correctly dispersed and accounted for.
