Niamh Bergin, who was selected to represent Luxembourg at the Rose of Tralee during a ball in March, was one of 16 girls interviewed by host Dáithí Ó Sé live on RTE television on Monday evening. A further sixteen regional and international representatives take to the stage of the Tralee festival dome on Tuesday evening before the judges pick a winner as the 2014 Rose of Tralee--the girl who best represents modern Irish womanhood. The winner will be announced at around midnight on Tuesday.
Niamh, who works at BNY Mellon, received warm applause and plenty of laughs throughout her interview and gave a shout out to her work colleagues and other local Rose fans watching at the Black Stuff pub in Pulvermühle.
Luxembourg has already had one Rose winner in the form of Nicola McEvoy, who was crowned international Rose of Tralee in 2012.
