The couple officially celebrated their engagement last Friday, the day after prime minister Jean-Claude Juncker revealed that they would be getting married sometime later this year.

The Crown Prince, 30, and Stéphanie, 28, held a reception for local dignitaries at the family home of Schloss Berg on Friday, welcoming members of the government and the council of state, ambassadors, Archbishop Hollerich, city mayor Xavier Bettel and commanders from the army and police force.

More details of the wedding ceremony and celebrations are expected to be released later on Thursday, but during his press conference last week Juncker announced that, contrary to some expectations, the wedding will not be marked by a public holiday--something of a moot point now, given that October 20 is a Saturday.
