One of the most universally admired artists of the past 50 years of pop music, Stevie Wonder has an appeal that spans generations and musical genres.
To date he has amassed an astounding 49 Top 40 singles, 32 no. 1 singles in US, US R&B and UK charts (including the likes of ‘Superstition’ and ‘Higher Ground’), and worldwide album sales totalling more than 100 million units. He has won an incredible 25 Grammy Awards, the prestigious Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and received a Golden Globe and an Academy Award (for ‘I just Called To Say I Love You’ from The Woman In Red).
There is little need to say much more about such a familiar artist, but the Rockhal describes him as “a multi-instrumentalist who plays the piano, keyboards, various synthesizers, harmonica, drums, percussion, and had a significant role in bringing synthesizers to the forefront of popular music.”
He stops off at the Rockhal as part of a European tour that will see him play festivals and arena venues across the continent.
Tickets for the concert go on sale at 10 a.m. this Friday April 4. Check out the Rockhal website for details.
