Child care: Sunflower Montessori Crèche officially opened its latest crèche in Findel on Tuesday evening.

The new crèche is located in a building owned by NordLB Bank on the Lou Hemmer.  It occupies some 545 square metres of the west wing of the ground floor and feature six classrooms with space for 36 babies and 43 toddlers.

That brings to over 270 the number of children that Sunflower now looks after in its three facilities--another is located in Findel and it has a purpose-built crèche in Moutfort.

Starting out with a small crèche in 2001, the Sunflower Montessori team led by experienced Montessori teachers Sam O’Dea and Helen Clarke, now employs 80 staff and has full accreditation with the ministry of the family and integration.

Plans to open a fourth crèche are already well under way and should come to fruition next spring.
