“We have developed an energy management system solution to optimise the integration of electromobility, for example. We help private individuals and professionals to manage their energy consumption,” explains Nexxtlab CEO Olivier Piraux. The Belval-based startup has just announced a new partnership with Flemish company EnergyKing, which specialises in the installation of solar panels, air conditioning, heat pumps, recharging stations, domestic batteries and ventilation systems.
“It’s a benchmark, particularly in Flanders, where we want to expand. EnergyKing carries out 30 installations a day and they chose us to provide them with our complete solution. It’s a long-term, win-win relationship, because they give us access to new markets, and thanks to our solution they can reach new customers.”
Developments in neighbouring countries
Nexxtlab is also involved in the recent announcement of a . “We are going to supply the technology that will enable the energy produced during the day to be stored and used to recharge buses at night,” confides Piraux from the Intersolution trade fair in Ghent, where he is currently with his team. The company is also taking part in the Creos Living Lab project, launched this summer, which aims to assess the impact of the energy transition on the Creos low-voltage electricity network, while testing innovative solutions to manage these repercussions.
Created in February 2018 and 50% owned by Creos, the startup now has a staff of 20 and wants to expand into new markets. “Our aim is to reach a workforce of 40-45 within two years. We have a subsidiary in Germany that we want to develop, as well as the Belgian, Austrian and Dutch markets, and of course Luxembourg, where we are already present. France is also on our radar,” continues the CEO, who in August 2023, along with a number of private shareholders, held by the bankrupt Powerdale.
