The Luxembourg pharmacists’ union (SPL) has announced that on-call pharmacies will not carry out certification of rapid tests during the coming holidays.

The union's reason for this decision is that there is a “huge demand from patients for the certification of rapid antigen tests (RATs) and a limited capacity in pharmacies”, while the “absolute priority of pharmacies remains the dispensing of medicines”.

The Luxembourg pharmacists' union also asks patients not to clog up telephone lines during on-call services to request appointments for rapid antigen tests.
