LuxairTours Sales VP Olivier Lamoral mentions new destinations and the importance of flexibility in his forecast for holidays abroad in 2023.

It is still very early to identify a real trend for 2023. However, the sales for summer 2023 are already open and many have already chosen to take advantage of “early booking” reductions, available until the beginning of January on a large selection of hotels.

As far as destinations are concerned, we are betting on an increase in demand for Turkey. Moreover, Luxair has added Izmir, located at the crossroads of European and Asian, Greek and Turkish cultural influences, to its network of destinations for next summer and additional frequencies for Antalya, the pearl of the Turkish Riviera, an exciting paradise for families.

Three other new destinations will also be added to its range of destinations as of next spring: Split, the second most populated city in Croatia, located on the paradisiacal Dalmatian coast, Pescara, an Italian seaside resort by the Adriatic Sea, and finally Chania, second city of Crete, full of gourmet restaurants and hidden gems.

On the other hand, some very popular destinations such as Faro and Malaga, where demand is already up compared to 2022, will be served daily in the high season.

As far as hotel and fuel prices are concerned, it’s no secret that they will increase sharply for next summer. LuxairTours has done everything possible to limit as much as possible so that this increase is not felt in sales prices. Several customers are worried about the supplements they would have to pay later, but Luxair and LuxairTours commit not to ask for any fuel increases once the trip has been confirmed by the customer.

In order to meet the demand of customers, who show an increasingly pronounced enthusiasm for luxury products, the offer of the “Excellence”catalogue, which includes exceptional hotels and services with a complete CO2 offset of the flights, has been further expanded as well.

The covid-19 pandemic of recent years has forced customers to demand more flexibility from tour operators. This is why LuxairTours has integrated the free modification of the journey up to 14 days before departure as a fixed rule and this is now part of the general conditions, in the same way as the modification of the name up to three days before departure, which we are the only ones to offer.

With Luxair and LuxairTours, it’s not only about the flight and the hotel. The passenger experience goes even beyond, and starts at the very moment of the arrival at the airport, through the experience onboard the aircraft and at the hotel, with the highest quality of services and activities, up until the very moment of arriving back at Luxembourg airport.

LuxairTours will, of course, always remain attentive to the customers and the publication of our Vakanz, Happy Summer and Excellence catalogues--all produced with FSC-certified paper--scheduled for mid-January will certainly be an important point in defining these trends.
