The Luxembourg operator is rolling out the next-generation wireless network, offering speeds of up to 46 Gbit/s and reduced latency. This technology connects more objects while guaranteeing an optimal user experience.

In our homes, the number of connected objects is growing in line with digital usage. To meet these new needs, the home network, particularly wifi, needs to be strengthened. This is why is announcing the arrival of Wi-Fi 7 technology.

We are very pleased to launch this new generation of network in Luxembourg, for both homes and businesses. With considerably enhanced performance, Wi-Fi 7 will meet the needs of current and future digital uses.

Faster and more robust, Wi-Fi 7 will enhance the connected experience in homes and workplaces. “With a connection speed of up to 46 Gbit/s, four times faster than the previous generation, speed and user experience are optimised thanks to the use of multiple frequency bands. This also reduces latency, or response time,” explains Christophe Van Yck.

Wi-Fi 7 increases network capacity, enabling more objects to be connected. “Connected objects are multiplying rapidly in our lives. In addition to smartphones, tablets and televisions, many devices control elements such as heating or lighting. The bandwidth requirements of these devices are increasing. It’s crucial that the network evolves to ensure they work properly,” he continues. The introduction of Wi-Fi 7 therefore meets customers' current and future needs.

Orange Luxembourg is the first operator in the country to make Wi-Fi 7 available. In order to roll out this technology quickly, it has been able to benefit from the group’s international capacity for innovation.

“Our aim is to make the most advanced technologies available as quickly as possible,” says Corinne Lozé, CEO of Orange Luxembourg.

Orange connects more than 14.3m fibre customers across Europe. Today, our customers can benefit from Wi-Fi 7. This development is designed to better meet the needs of the market and support innovation in the country.

“The deployment of Wi-Fi 7 is part of our ongoing efforts to improve connectivity for our customers, with the implementation of a fibre network recognised as one of the best in Europe, and the launch of the 10 Gbit/s fibre service last autumn,” adds Corinne Lozé.
