The entrepreneurs market co-organised by Microlux, Nyuko, Co-Creators (REconomy) and Touchpoints will take place on Saturday 8 October. Around forty stands will display a range of products by local entrepreneurs, and the event also features workshops, music performances and a special wine reception.

Driven by their mission to promote local businesses, the four entities known for supporting local entrepreneurs joined forces to organise the one-day market on 8 October at the Scheiss cultural centre in Merl. The market will be open from 11am until 6pm.

Luxembourg City mayor (DP) is expected to take part during a special wine reception (vin d'honneur) offered by the city at 2pm in honour of the local entrepreneurs.

"The entrepreneurs supported by the four entities organising this market are mostly micro-entrepreneurs, self-employed people who have recently launched their business,”  explains Microlux communication manager Quyen Ngo-LI. “The act of entrepreneurship is already very courageous in itself, but once the business has been launched, the greatest challenge for the entrepreneur is to make himself known, especially to his potential customers…”

The organisers hope to “give maximum visibility” to entrepreneurs during the event, which is accessible to the general public free of charge.

40 stands, workshops, foodtrucks, concerts and more

The stands, which will be decorated in multicultural colours, will showcase products--such as clothing, jewellery, handicrafts, tarot games, books, cosmetics, figurines, musical instruments and kitchen items--but also services offered by local entrepreneurs, such as photography, car cleaning, gardening, dog walking and more.

Workshop sessions on mental fitness, embroidery, opening a business account, printmaking, stress management and more are envisaged throughout the day. Musical interludes by Kossobé and a Djembe [a type of West African drum] concert by Djembe Foolies are also on the programme.

The schedule also features a kid’s corner for younger guests and a food section offering world cuisine and several drinks.
