André Hansen has been appointed general commissioner of the Luxembourg pavilion at the 2025 World Expo in Osaka.

The government council has approved the appointment of Hansen at the proposal of economy minister Franz Fayot (LSAP).

Hansen is an advisor to the ministry of the economy and deputy head of the directorate general for the promotion of foreign trade and investment. The 41-year-old senior civil servant is also chair of the Committee for the promotion of Luxembourgish exports (COPEL), a member of the board of directors of the Luxembourg export credit agency (ODL) and a member of the management board of GIE Luxembourg@Expo2020Dubai.

Hansen will continue to perform all his current duties.

The Osaka World Expo will take place from 13 April to 13 October 2025 with the theme “Designing the society of the future, imagining our life of tomorrow”. It will be the 25th World Expo in which Luxembourg participates.
