The SUV that hides its true colours

Korea’s KGM has presented the Torres EVX Van, a 100% electric van with a 420 kg payload. Prices start at €47,490, including VAT, with the vehicle aimed at businesses.

First 100% electric pick-up and 4X4

Maxus has launched the Etorro N9, an electric pickup with 442HP and 700NM of torque, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100km/h in 5.8 seconds and towing a maximum of 3.5 tonnes. Its 120.0 KWH battery offers a range of 430 km and a 20%-80% charge in 42 minutes, which is useful given its fuel consumption of 26.7 KWH per hundred kilometres. Starts at €73,008, including VAT.

Renault gets the ball rolling

Renault has started marketing--since 6 March for those who had a “queue cutter” reservation--its special Renault 5 E-tech electric Roland-Garros series, which takes up the codes of another French brand a few years ago. It features satin-finish slate-grey bodywork, a “Croix de Saint-André” decoration in reference to the Roland-Garros stadium, e-pop shifter like the grip on a tennis racket and a clay-coloured induction charging mat. Under the bonnet, a 52 KWH battery guarantees a range of 420km, enough to take you off the beaten track. From €35,197.
